Research Interests

The aim of my PhD is to investigate the effect of spatial processes on the evolution of ecological niche and dispersal in metacommunity systems, using computer modelling and simulations. The model used is the following: trophically-equivalent species are generated and released in a heterogeneous landscape in which they will compete for resources and grow according to local environmental conditions. The idea is then to study the influence of the landscape's spatial structure on the community's construction and also on the species' characteristics.
