During my PhD, I studied vocal communication and social cognition in wild vervet monkeys. More specifically, I looked at audience effects in vervet monkeys' vocal behaviour, i.e. looking at how the mere presence of specific individuals could influence their call production in different contexts. Thanks to the collaborative work with my colleagues from the lab of Klaus Zuberbühler, and a broader collaboration with many scientists from all over the world working on different primate species, I was involved in comparative studies which helped to get a better understanding of language evolution. Currently involved at UniL as a data manager, I am now working as an IT specialist to help creating, organising and analysing the long term database of wild vervet monkeys at the Inkawu Vervet Project in South Africa.
