TetrasPool lets you simulate the fluctuations of Grouse populations. It performs Population Viability Analyses (PVA), that is, statistical analyses of series of runs in order to examine population behaviour and predict extinction risks within a specified time. The model is spatially structured, taking into account the positions of populations and distances between them. Dispersion among them is also accounted for.
PVA is an important tool for wildlife conservation and management. It helps to select conservation options while assessing the viability of populations subjected to different management practices. Current versions:
