Tane Kafle

After completing my undergraduate degree in Genetics at University College London, I went onto a masters at Imperial College London studying Computational Methods in Ecology and Evolution. My project focused on identifying the genes that enabled the divergence of Metrosideros tree species, on Lord Howe Island, in the face of gene flow.

My main interests lie in genetics and evolution, including gene-based evolutionary analyses and methods for inferring models of evolution from genomic data. As a computational biologist, I really enjoy writing scripts to handle genetic data and perform analyses.

I will be completing my PhD in the Arguello Lab investigating the evolution of sensory neural systems in drosophilids.
