Dr. Soon-Jae Lee

I love to do the all kinds of scientific researches and ask/answer the questions of 'How?' and 'Why?'.

I believe that, interaction is one of the most essential features of life to maintain its perpetuity.

My main field of research is one of the most ubiquitous symbiosis on earth, mycorrhizal symbiosis.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), known to form a symbiosis with more than 80% of plant species on the planet and virtually interact with entire land plant species. The AMF-plant symbiosis (AM symbiosis) is the backbone of the plant holobiont by mediating the interaction between the soil microbiome and the plant. I am enjoying to take a glimpse of this symbiosis and slightly expand our understanding of it with both experimental and theoretical approaches.
