The research mission of the Department of oncology is the discovery and development of leading edge medical care for cancer patients.
All major cancer types fall within our perimeter of research and the evolution of individualised therapies is a priority. Our work centres strongly on immunobiology, immune-engineering and immunotherapy.
The coalition and proximity between our leading investigators and the corps of medical experts is central to the excellence of our research. It allows our laboratory findings to rapidly impact our clinical research, and to speed observations from our clinical trials back to our research community.
In practical terms, it is this translational approach which allows the department to offer patients the best care currently available, at the earliest possible instance.
