JOM 2018

The most recent edition took place on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

JOM 2017

Last year’s event took place on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

We were honored to welcome two distinguished guests to the opening breakfast: the University Rector, Ms Nouria Hernandez, and the joint winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2017, Mr Jacques Dubochet, who both gave very inspiring speeches, encouraging children to follow their dreams and desires, in spite of assumptions or preconceived ideas.

What is Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day?

Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day (Journée Oser tous les métiers - JOM) has been running since 2003 throughout Vaud canton and elsewhere in Switzerland (Futur en tous genres is the name of the current national project).

It offers girls and boys in years 7 to 9 (HarmoS) the opportunity to accompany their parent or someone else in their circle (of the opposite sex) to work and take part in a range of workshops.

It aims to help children broaden their professional horizons beyond traditional stereotypes and discuss questions around their choice of career and other life decisions freely with their parents.
