Gender Equality Commission

The Gender Equality Commission coordinates discussions and consultations on gender equality at UNIL.

It includes representatives from all faculties and staff bodies.

Responsibilities, regulations and activity reports

According to the “Promoting equality at the University of Lausanne” directive (PDF, in French), the Commission’s responsibilities are to:

  • work with the Equal Opportunities Officer to draft and develop a university policy on promoting women to professorships and decision-making bodies (Rectorate, Dean’s offices and institutes);
  • acts as a liaison between the faculties and the various bodies to which members of the Commission belong, the Equal Opportunities Office and the university Rectorate;
  • participate, as far as possible in the projects and activities set up by the Equal Opportunities Office aimed at promoting equality;
  • disseminate the statistics, documents and various other information gathered by the Equal Opportunities Office from the faculties.
