Department of Organizational Behavior (OB)
The Department of Organizational Behavior carries out advanced research on individual and group behavior and decision-making in businesses. The department aims at developing knowledge to help organizations improve their efficiency and their employees’ well-being.
Department of Accounting and Control (DAC)
The Department of Accounting and Control's research covers areas such as auditing, tax systems, management and cost control. It aims at understanding the growing complexity of national and international accounting systems.
Department of Business and Tax Law (D-DAF)
Members of the Department of Business and Tax Law are interested, through their research, in the many areas of business law (commercial law, financial market law, etc.) and taxation (natural persons and legal entities, direct and indirect, national and international taxation). Their work will especially include tax, competition and company laws, intellectual property, etc.
Department of Economics (DE)
Research in the Department of Economics focuses on the areas of health, industrial, public, spatial, experimental and national economics along with theoretical and applied econometrics, finance and European integration.
Department of Finance (DF)
Research carried out by the Department of Finance covers all aspects of finance, including speculative market price determinants, corporate finance, market microstructure and financial institutions.
Department of Marketing (DMK)
The Department of Marketing at HEC Lausanne strives to improve our knowledge and understanding of exchange processes by taking into account the objects of exchanges, market actors, and their environment, to help develop marketing strategies. The research carried out focuses in particular on the role of the consumer in an international and multicultural perspective as well as on the implementation of marketing policies that are ethical and useful to society.
Department of Operations (DO)
The Department of Operations works to optimize workflows, such as reducing costs and production times. Its members conduct research on topics such as supply and production chain management and processes, decision analysis, and queuing theories.
Department of Actuarial Science (DSA)
The Department of Actuarial Science brings together academic activities in insurance, including theories of risk and credibility, provident systems, stochastic models in insurance, the mathematical instrumentalisation of finance.
Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society (SGS)
The SGS department is conducting research on the sources of firms’ long-term competitive advantage and sustainable performance. One of the founding belief of the department is that firms’ strategies in a globalizing world often have to take into account not only market dimensions and opportunities (competition, price, differentiation, innovation, diversification, M&As, etc.) but also nonmarket ones (ethics, environmental aspects, regulation, macroeconomic policies, politics, media influences, etc.).
Department of Information Systems (DESI)
The Department of Information Systems brings together researchers in management, engineering and design, mathematics and logic, computer science, biology, cybercrime, with an interdisciplinary approach. It is composed of two groups, one focusing on Information Systems and the other on Complexity Science.
