The Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), part of the University of Lausanne’s Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public Administration, seeks a:

Full, Associate or Assistant Professor (tenure track) of “Political Institutions and Public Administration”

Commencement date: 1 January 2023 or a date to be agreed

Place of work: IDHEAP, on the University of Lausanne campus, Dorigny

Your activities:
The development and delivery of courses focused on political institutions and public administration, and their interrelationships, across IDHEAP’s different training programmes (master’s degree and continuing education).

Conducting research on the functioning and reform of political institutions and public administrations. This research should focus on (without being limited to) cases in Switzerland, ideally using a comparative perspective.

Developing consultancy and service provision activities for the community, particularly for the benefit of public sector entities facing challenges related to the fields covered by this position.


Your profile:

A PhD in political science, public administration or another social science discipline.

A deep and thorough understanding of the theoretical debates concerning the functioning of Switzerland’s political-administrative system and of existing comparative research on other political-administrative systems.

Excellent command of appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
