Research:

Her first research investigated, from a socio-historical perspective, the processes of immigration to Germany and analysed the developments in the migration policies for the second generations.

Then, a desire to adopt a more qualitative approach to delve deeper into the dynamics animating the movement of people drove her into the anthropological studies. Here, she developed a research on the imaginaries of young Italians living in Belgium, aiming at disclosing how both imaginaries and people are – or not – set in motion.

Soon after the master, she engaged in a yearly governmental project on the old and new Italian migration to Switzerland. Within it, a recent bilateral agreement between the Confederation and Italy laid the foundation for a new research. The cognitive/normative tensions characterizing the discourses and actions of the Italian community living in the Swiss Confederation became the focus of the new analysis.

Currently, she is involved in the ERC-ARTIVISM project, investigating artivist actions within carnival and festive events and carnivalesque elements within political demonstrations. Ultimately, the research aims at understanding social transformations generated by artistic activism.
