I am mainly interested in the following areas/topic: MRI, sequence development, MRI image reconstruction, ultrahigh fields, biomedical signal and image processing, EEG, deep learning, compressed sensing, better understanding of the eye-brain circuit with a focus on advances in technology to develop new paradigms for improving human health.
I was born in Poland, where I completed my medical physics studies with a focus on imaging and biometry. My involvement in MRI research began in Cracow, and it continued at Prof. Schad's department at Heidelberg University, where I worked on my master's thesis focused on optimization of an Arterial Spin Labeling to measure perfusion in the human brain.
My PhD in biomedical engineering was realized in two parts: 1) development of a novel MRS sequence to access downfield parts of the human brain; 2) application of deep learning to MRS post-processing (in particular for denoising of 1D MRS spectrum). These projects were carried out under the supervision of Prof. R. Kreis (University of Bern).
