Professor Sophie Weerts

Sophie Weerts is an Associate Professor of Public Law at the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration of the University of Lausanne. Her research focuses on regulation and governance issues of the digital society and their impact on the concepts and principles of public law from the perspective of science, technology and society (STS). In addition, she works on issues of language and gender policies.

 

Professor Weerts holds a PhD in legal sciences from the Université catholique de Louvain and a degree in economic and social ethics. She has taught at several universities (University of Geneva, University of Neuchâtel, Université Saint-Louis (Brussels) and Université catholique de Louvain). 

 

Previously, she worked for several years as a lawyer specialising in public law at the Brussels Bar. She was an expert for the Belgian Federal Minister for the Civil Service in the context of the reform and modernisation of the civil service.
