Sylvain Métille is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public Administration of the University of Lausanne, where he teaches Computer Criminal Law.
A specialist in data protection and computer law issues, he has been a lawyer at the bar for a dozen years. He is currently a partner in the HDC Study in Lausanne. Sylvain Métille advises public administrations and Swiss and foreign companies on cutting-edge issues related to data protection, IT and outsourcing as well as Internet law.
Sylvain Métille regularly participates in international academic conferences and is the author of numerous scientific publications. In 2017, he published his second book “Internet and Law: Protection of Personality and Practical Issues” in the "Quid Iuris" Collection. Regularly solicited by the media, he keeps a blog, since 2010, on the issues of new technologies.
Holder of a doctorate in law from the University of Neuchâtel (2010) obtained with the mention summa cum laude, he was invited as Visiting Scholar by the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology (University of California) in 2010-2011.
