Sylvain Métille is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Criminal Justice and Public Administration of the University of Lausanne, where he teaches Computer Crime and Data Protection Law.
Admitted to the Swiss Bar (2005), he is a specialist in data protection and computer law issues and currently a partner with the law firm, HDC, in Lausanne. Sylvain Métille advises government bodies and Swiss and foreign companies on cutting-edge issues related to data protection, IT and outsourcing, as well as Internet law.
Sylvain Métille participates regularly in international academic conferences and is the author of numerous scientific publications. In 2017, he published his second book “Internet and Law: Protection of Personality and Practical Issues” in the "Quid Iuris" Collection. Regularly solicited by the media, he has a blog on new technologies that has existed for a decade.
Sylvain Métille holds a summa cum laude doctorate in law from the University of Neuchâtel (2010) and was a Visiting Scholar at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology (University of California) from 2010 to 2011.
