Birgit Sambeth Glasner is an attorney at law and holds a Diplôme postgrade (LL.M. in International Banking Law) from the University of Boston (USA). She trained at Lloyds Bank plc and worked with Baker & McKenzie Chicago and Geneva before practicing 5 years at the Tax and Legal Department of Ernst & Young in Basel. She managed her own law firm for 11 years in Geneva and merged with Altenburger Geneva and Zurich in 2005. Ms Sambeth Glasner is an international sworn and accredited mediator sworn in by the Geneva Government and the Court of Vaud, an external mediator for the WTO, as well as for various banks, companies and other organisations, and a mediator at the TAS-CAS Court of Arbitration for Sport. She is also a visiting professor teaching commercial mediation at, among others, the Graduate Institute HEI Geneva, the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and the BUCERIUS Law School, in Hamburg.
Ms Sambeth Glasner is a certified mediator by the Swiss Bar Association FSA/SAV, IMI International Mediation Institute, FSM/SDM Swiss Federation of Mediators, SCCM Swiss Chamber for Commercial Mediation, CEDR Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London, CPR New York, CMAP Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris, CAM Camera Arbitrale di Milano, SCIA Shenzen Court of International Arbitration in China, INSOL International Insolvency Mediation, and listed as Neutral at ICC and WIPO.
She is a Distinguished Member fellow of the International Academy of Mediators IAM in Canada, and a member of the Swiss Arbitration Centre Mediation Advisory Council. In 2019, she was selected by Who's Who Legal: Mediation as "n° 1 most highly regarded mediator" in Switzerland and in 2021 nominated for the best mediator and mediation advocate by par WWL Switzerland Award.
