Antoine Lutti is Head of MRI Physics at the LREN-DNC-CHUV and the technical director of the research-dedicated MRI platform of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience-CHUV. He is in charge of the technical management of the platform and of the scientific orientation of all MRI physics developments.

Antoine Lutti’s research activities are centered on the development of MRI acquisition sequences, which constitute the core of the portfolio of the acquisition techniques available on the MRI platform of the DNC-CHUV. Over 3000 scans have been completed to-date for a large range of basic and clinical neuroscience research projects.

Research Interests

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a powerful non-invasive imaging technique with wide applications in fundamental and clinical neuroscience. The main research interests of the MRI physics group at LREN lie in the development of novel structural and functional MRI acquisitions that allow for the characterization of brain structure in relation with brain function and behaviour. This includes the development of novel techniques for quantitative MRI relaxometry. In particular, the objective of the group is to develop novel biomarkers of the brain to characterize brain microstructure in-vivo. This will allow the unification of the microscopic and macroscopic descriptions of the brain in parallel with behaviour, providing new insights into the mechanisms underlying brain health and disease.

More information on the research work conducted by the MRI physics group is available here.
