Julijana Ivanisevic

Principal Investigator

Julijana Ivanisevic is a Metabolomics group leader and Senior Lecturer (MER) at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne. Her research expertise and interest are in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics application to investigation of age-related sexual dimorphism in metabolism, in health, ageing and age-associated neurodegenerative diseases. To this end, metabolomics team in Lausanne is developing and applying quantitative metabolomic and lipidomic approaches from model systems (3D human brain organoids, 3xTgAD mice, human neural stem cell culture) to clinical population studies (baseline 'healthy' CoLaus study, Alzheimer's disease study).

She joined UNIL in September 2015 after working as a postdoctoral researcher in prof. Gary Siuzdak's Center for Metabolomics, The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, USA. She received her PhD in chemical ecology at the Aix-Marseille University, France, in 2011.

Julijana serves in the Editorial Advisory Board of Metabolomics journal, in the Editorial Board of Clinical Mass Spectrometry journal and as the Associate Editor for Frontiers in Neuroscience.
