Anaí is a Master student at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Biology from the University of San Carlos (Guatemala). After working at the National Institute of Forensics (INACIF) and the General Hospital San Juan de Dios (HGSJDD, CFLG) in Guatemala, she decided to continue her master’s studies in Molecular Life Sciences at the UNIL. Her thesis project aims to study sex-dependent changes in amino acid and acylcarnitine metabolism with age and determine if this metabolic profile has a predictive capacity for risk factors of cardiometabolic diseases (changes in glucose, insulin and blood pressure levels). The project will be carried out on a Lausanne population (CoLaus), at Metabolomics platform in collaboration with Prof. Zoltán Kutalik (UNIL-CHUV) and Prof. Pedro Marques-Vidal (CHUV).
