Financial support

The Direction of the University of Lausanne hosts seven foundations which financially support students and /or researchers. Each foundation offers different types of support which it allocates according to specific criteria. Support request procedures, criteria and other information are available on the websites of each foundation.

University of Lausanne Foundation

Who can request support from the UNIL Foundation:

UNIL researchers (criteria vary for each type of support)

Types of support:

individual research support
participation in congresses
organization of conferences
IN and OUT exchanges
support for projects at the interface between academia and civil society

Sophie Afenduli Foundation

Who can request support from the Sophie Afenduli Foundation:

student or researcher of Greek nationality
student or researcher of Swiss nationality working in a field concerning Greece

Types of support:

grants for contributions to higher education or research training costs.

Agassiz Foundation

Who can request support from the Agassiz Foundation:

FGSE or FBM researchers (excluding medicine)

Types of support:

research support
international exchanges

Irène, Nada, Andrée Chuard-Schmid Foundation

Who can request support from the Chuard-Schmid Foundation:

professor·e·s
assistant professors
teaching and research masters (MER)

Types of support:

grant for research projects
publications

Fondation Erna Hamburger

Who can request support from the Erna Hamburger Foundation:

women wishing to continue their training by entering post-degree courses

Types of support:

grant intended to provide for the material needs of the beneficiaries

Herbette Foundation

Who can request support from the Herbette Foundation:

professors and MERs registered in FGSE (IGD, ISTE, IDYST) or in FBM (DBMV, DEE, DMF, CIG), excluding medical, human and social sciences

Types of support:

invitation of scientists
organization of congresses, courses, seminars, conferences
activity aimed at popularizing science in all its forms
scientific leave / improvement of the teaching staff in general
research project
purchase of devices, materials, instruments, books, etc.
contribution to scientific publication costs

Theodore Lagonico Foundation

Who can request support from the Theodore Lagonico Foundation:

students (minimum master level) or researchers of Greek nationality, registered at UNIL or EPFL
UNIL researchers doing research in a field concerning Greece

Types of support:

scholarship for higher education or research costs

Zerilli-Marimò Foundation

Who can request support from the Zerilli-Marimò Foundation:

UNIL students and young researchers working in the field of Italian language and civilization in the broad sense

Types of support:

grant intended to provide for the material needs of the beneficiaries
