The THEMA laboratory (social THeory, critical Enquiry, Mediation, public Action), brings together researchers working on different subjects, and from different perspectives and disciplines, to discuss the theoretical, methodological, critical and political aspects of their respective research.
The terms of the acronym are therefore to be understood in a wide sense (for example, “social THEory” encompasses theoretical debates on collective action, social movements, the media, the State, public policies, development processes, the body, health, sexuality, identities, beliefs/values, social recognition and exclusion, western and other social transformation, globalization, post-secularism, post-humanism, etc. as well as work on the history or philosophy of social theories).
