Scientific distinctions and prizes

Teaching Award 2017 - Swiss society of General Internal Medicine 2017

As part of its autumn congress, the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine (SSMIG) awarded its "Teaching Awards" for the first time in October 2017. The prizes were awarded to the duo Matteo Monti, MERclin at the FBM, and David Gachoud of the University Hospital of Lausanne, as well as to Zurich family doctor Daniel Oertle. The prizes are worth 5,000 francs each.
Matteo Monti and David Gachoud: at the University Hospital of Lausanne, these two hospital internists are responsible for a complete programme of pregraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education of general internal medicine. In addition, they perform important tasks in coordinating and evaluating medical student internships. Together with colleagues from Geneva and Bern, they form the "Swiss lnterest Group for Teaching Medicine", which is committed to the professional development of medical teachers.

Swiss quality award 2017

The Swiss Quality Award 2017 was awarded to the project for the integration of clinical nursing assessment in an internal medicine unit at the CHUV in Lausanne.
On Wednesday 6 December 2017 in Solothurn, Leila Guesmia, clinical nurse specialist and project manager at the CHUV, received the Swiss Quality Award 2017 in the "Hospital" category. This national distinction is awarded each year for a project that improves quality for patients who are treated for at least two days in a health institution. The Swiss Quality Award is organised each year on the initiative of nine Swiss organisations active in the development of quality in the health sector or representing professional associations.
