What are the prospects after a Master's degree in Law and Economics?

Opportunities are extensive and depend in part on the graduate's previous training and the courses chosen during the MDE. They include:

  • private banks, investment banks, collective investment schemes, wealth managers
  • financial and legal services for industrial or commercial companies
  • accounting and auditing services
  • services in the regulatory area (compliance officers, banks, insurance companies, traders, etc.)
  • legal consulting for fiduciary companies
  • tax consulting
  • activities within the tax administration and financial services of public authorities
  • activities with Swiss federal authorities, such as: FINMA, SECO, SIX, COMCO, FOJ, OFCOM, MROS, COPA
  • work with the legal and financial departments of Swiss cantonal and federal finance administrations
  • work in various departments of international organizations, including OECD, WTO, World Bank
  • employers' organizations and labor unions
  • legal consulting (for lawyers), auditing, accounting, tax consulting, compliance



For holders of a Bachelor of Laws, the MDE gives access to an internship in a law office, as the Master in Law and Economics is recognized as a Master of Laws (MLaw) degree.

The Master's degree also allows you to benefit from equivalencies recognized in the framework of training for licensed tax and accounting experts:
