What are the prospects after a Master's degree in Law and Economics?
Opportunities are extensive and depend in part on the graduate's previous training and the courses chosen during the MDE. They include:
- private banks, investment banks, collective investment schemes, wealth managers
- financial and legal services for industrial or commercial companies
- accounting and auditing services
- services in the regulatory area (compliance officers, banks, insurance companies, traders, etc.)
- legal consulting for fiduciary companies
- tax consulting
- activities within the tax administration and financial services of public authorities
- activities with Swiss federal authorities, such as: FINMA, SECO, SIX, COMCO, FOJ, OFCOM, MROS, COPA
- work with the legal and financial departments of Swiss cantonal and federal finance administrations
- work in various departments of international organizations, including OECD, WTO, World Bank
- employers' organizations and labor unions
- legal consulting (for lawyers), auditing, accounting, tax consulting, compliance
For holders of a Bachelor of Laws, the MDE gives access to an internship in a law office, as the Master in Law and Economics is recognized as a Master of Laws (MLaw) degree.
