Free Mover

Important

- A Free Mover exchange is an exchange that is not undertaken within our exchange agreements

- You are responsible for finding out and making all procedures with the chosen institution:  admission, semester fees, language requirements, housing, etc.

- The conditions also apply to a Free Mover exchange

- Bachelor students: if you have obtained a minimum grade average of 4.2 in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's program, you can do a Free Mover exchange in the Spring of the 3rd year

- If you have been selected under an exchange agreement, and you refuse the seat that has been allocated to you, you cannot then do a Free Mover exchange

- A partial reduction from UNIL semester fees can be requested, please consult the Grants & Financial support . No mobility grants are paid

How to apply?

Please follow the indications below concerning HEC Lausanne:

  1. Choose one or more universities for your Free Mover exchange
  2. Prepare a Learning Agreement for each chosen institution
    • Extension programs are generally not validated for an exchange
    • The courses you choose must correspond to the level of your studies
  3. Send your choice of universities, as well as your Learning Agreements by e-mail within the deadline (see below) to your Outoing Students Advisor at hec.outgoing@unil.ch
  4. Once your choice(s) validated by the Student Exchange Office, contact the universitie(s) to see if they accept Free Mover students
  5. Once the university selected and their confirmation received, send the acceptation letter at hec.outgoing@unil.ch and confirm your exchange will
  6. Complete the "Formulaire de demande de congé" (available below) to ask for a restricted semester leave and send it at hec.outgoing@unil.ch for signature

 

      Deadlines:

  • for an exchange in the Autumn semester : July 31st
  • for an exchange in the Spring semester : December 15th
