Students at UNIL - Transfer into a Master programme

 

Students who are enrolled in the current semester at UNIL and wish to pursue their studies with a Master programme of the same faculty the semester following their graduation (Bachelor) have to apply online.

Deadlines
- 30 April (autumn semester)
- 30 November (spring semester)

Students who are enrolled in the current semester at UNIL and wish to start a Master programme in another faculty have to fill in the request form for enrolment (“immatriculation”).

If you are no longer registered at UNIL since obtaining your Bachelor at UNIL and wish to start a Master programme, you must submit an online request for re-enrolment (“réimmatriculation”).

Students who are already enrolled in a Master at UNIL and wish to transfer to another Master programme in the same faculty have to fill in the request form for transfer to the Master in the same Faculty / School.

Art. 75  Refusal of registration
1 A student who has been excluded from the University of Lausanne or another higher education institution on disciplinary grounds cannot enrol at UNIL.
2 After examining the reasons of the exclusion, the Rectorate can nevertheless derogate from paragraph 1, if at least eight years has passed since the end of the previous studies.

3 The Rectorate can refuse registration if the actions of a candidate lead to the conclusion, with supporting evidence, that registration could threaten the safety of members of the University.
4 The Rectorate can refuse registration if a candidate fraudulently attempts to obtain admission, for example by providing false or incomplete data, or by submitting false or falsified documents.
5 In the event of refusal of registration within the meaning of paragraphs 3 and 4, the applicant cannot submit a new application for a period of at least eight years.

Art. 77  Conditions to registration and equivalences within faculties
1 The academic regulations of the faculties determine the conditions of registration within them. They settle questions relating to the equivalence of studies at another higher education institution.

Art. 77a  Double registration
1 Students are allowed to register simultaneously in two education programmes taught at the University of Lausanne, provided that they meet the conditions for admission.
2 They may not, however, require any adjustment because of the double registration.

Art. 78  Change of faculty or programme
1 A student who wishes to change faculty or programme has to fulfil the admission conditions as well as the registration conditions and conditions of access to exams of his/her new faculty or programme.

If the student has already been registered at the University of Lausanne or at one or more other higher education institutions and enrolled successively in two courses of study, without having obtained a bachelor’s degree, respectively a master’s degree or a title deemed equivalent, it cannot be included in a third course, unless the inclusion in a single course has been limited to one semester.

If a period of at least eight years has elapsed since the completion of the second course, the student shall be entitled to the same conditions as other candidates applying for registration and commencing their university studies, including in the choice of area or discipline. On the other hand, no equivalence will be granted for previously interrupted or failed courses.

Art. 78a Refusal of registration
1 A student who has been excluded from a UNIL bachelor or master's programme can no longer enrol in this programme.
2 A student who is not authorised to continue his/her studies in another Swiss or foreign higher education institution cannot enrol in the same subject area or discipline at UNIL.
