Strategic partnership launched for Sino-Swiss cooperation 

CEFC and SIX signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a collaboration in research and executive education. This MoU enters into effect on 1 September 2020.

The partnership between CEFC and SIX will focus on financial services, cross-listing of stocks, entrepreneurship and sustainable development, innovation management and other topics related to the cooperation between China and Switzerland. The two organizations will start by developing a joint training project.

The joint training project will address the needs for Chinese entrepreneurs who are interested in investing in Switzerland and in Europe. Furthermore, CEFC and SIX also intend to cooperate in research fields such as Fintech, Cryptocurrency, Distributed Ledger Technology, and other AI-related applications in banking and finance. The signing of this agreement formalizes the mutual interaction and confirms their joint commitment to support each other in building a platform of exchange serving both Chinese and Swiss societies.

Prof. Minyue Dong, Director of CEFC: “The partnership between CEFC and SIX will enable us to combine CEFC’s resources and expertise in executive education with those of SIX in financial services. It will also provide both Chinese and Swiss startups with a new platform to achieve Sino-Swiss cooperation success.”

Founded in 2018, the CEFC at HEC Lausanne (Unil) aims to promote the common progress of Chinese and Swiss enterprises and societies and strives to transform scientific research results into concrete actions resulting in positive economic effects.

The 2nd Swiss Accounting Research Alpine Camp (SARAC) successfully took place in Andermatt in February 2020

The 2nd Swiss Accounting Research Alpine Camp (SARAC) was closed with great success in Andermatt on Feb.7th, 2020, jointly organized by the accounting research groups of HEC Lausanne and University of St. Gallen.

This 2nd SARAC convened 43 conference sessions, 65 participants from 47 prestigious universities worldwide. Two keynote speakers, Prof. Christian Leuz from University of Chicago and Prof. Beatriz García Osma from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid gave stunning speeches respectively on CSR reporting and financial reporting quality.

Speakers and participants provided inspiring presentations and discussions, covering the classic accounting research questions, also the hottest topics such as Robo-Analyst, climate change & CSR reporting, machine learning, and banks’ supervisory disclosure.
