The processing of your data indicated above is necessary to fulfil the public duties incumbent on the University of Lausanne (for example, the registration procedure, grant applications, examinations or award of qualifications) or is based on your consent to process your request (such as for careers guidance services, special activities such as those provided by the sports or language centres, your registration for events or an application for a parking permit).
The data you communicate to us may be shared between the various departments and faculties of the University of Lausanne so that we can fulfil the objectives indicated above and meet your expectations. In this respect, we may also share your data with partners involved in the delivery of our various missions and activities (such as public or private partner academic institutions, in Switzerland and abroad, and IT or catering service providers).
The University of Lausanne may also be required to disclose your data in order to fulfil its statutory obligations, in response to a request from a judicial or administrative authority or in accordance with its statutory obligations or in relation to legal proceedings.
Your data will not be sold to third parties under any circumstances, and in particular, for marketing or promotional purposes.
The majority of the data collected by the University of Lausanne are hosted on our servers or, if we are working with an external partner who is required to process your data, within the European Economic Area (EEA).
If, however, your data are processed outside the EEA, which may be the case depending on the institutional partner concerned, for example in the United States, we ensure that your data are transferred lawfully, either by obtaining your explicit consent or by other means (such as an assurance that the body concerned is covered by Privacy Shield or by entering into a standard contractual agreement covering this area).
We do our utmost to ensure the security of your data and avoid any inappropriate access, use, modification or disclosure of your personal information. Our websites use SSL certificates authenticated by a third party to guarantee the confidentiality of the data exchanged, in particular during the delivery of an online service. These certificates also provide a means of checking that your computer is communicating correctly with the University of Lausanne's server.
We also do our utmost to ensure that any third party to whom your data are communicated (as described above) process them securely to ensure their confidentiality and integrity.
In spite of all these efforts, it is impossible to guarantee complete security for information shared over the internet. The University of Lausanne cannot be held liable in respect of the data you communicate to it.
