SIX Swiss Exchange, based in Zurich, is one of the most technologically advanced stock exchanges in the world. SIX develops and operates superior and innovative infrastructure services for the Swiss financial center and Swiss banks. This includes services in the securities business, for payment transactions, for financial information, and for cyber security. SIX connects financial market participants in Switzerland and throughout the world. The company is owned by around 120 national and international financial institutions that are active in the Swiss financial center.

History

SIX has stood for innovation and stability on the global financial markets since 2008. Its strength is founded on its history: SIX was formed from the merger of experienced financial companies – with their beginnings going back to around 1930.

SIX in China

On July 28, 2022, GEM, Gotion High-tech, Keda Industrial Group and Ningbo Shanshan became the first Chinese companies to list GDRs on SIX Swiss Exchange. The listings are part of the newly launched China-Switzerland Stock Connect program. Find out more

In October 2019, SIX and Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to start an initiative with the aim of connecting the investors’ community and companies in both countries to allow for the establishment of capital formation possibilities on a larger scale. Find out more

In April 2019, SIX and Shanghai Stock Exchange renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the intention to further deepen their collaboration which was initiated in 2015. A Swiss delegation visited the Shanghai Stock Exchange, where the two parties signed the document in the presence of Swiss Confederation President Ueli Maurer. Find out more
