Should you arrive by plane at one of the Swiss international airpots (Geneva or Zurich), the most convenient way to reach the department is by train, here are some instructions to follow:
From Geneva airport (which is the closest airport to us)
The trip to Lausanne takes about 45 minutes and there are 3 departures per hour. A ticket costs approximately 25 CHF. Most connections are direct and there is no need to change. Full timetable details are available at www.sbb.ch.
From Zurich airport (Kloten)
The trip to Lausanne takes 2½ hours. A ticket costs approximately 72 CHF. There are 2 departures per hour and some trains require changing in Bern or Zurich main station. To check the timetable please refer to the link above and make your request by using Zurich Airport as point of departure and Lausanne, for arrival.
Take the train to Lausanne station.Once you get to the Lausanne train station the best way to reach us is by taxi. However, you can also take the Metro #m2, which will bring you to our Research Center in about 15 minutes. A ticket costs 3.00 CHF and can be purchased at machines located at the metro station. You should get off at the stop "Croisettes" (terminus of the line), from which you will immediately see the research buildings to your right.
Coming by car from Geneva, you follow the direction "Lausanne -Nord- Simplon - Gd St Bernard". You exit the highway at "Lausanne-Vennes, hôpitaux". You then turn to the left and follow the direction Berne, Moudon. After the BP gas station, turn right at the traffic lights, and right again into the small road leading to parking. You will see big, flat buildings of the research center directly in front of you. The LICR offices are situated at the ground level of the main building. The reception will need to register your license plate number for free visitor parking.
Coming by car from Vevey, you exit the highway at "Lausanne-Vennes, hôpitaux" You then turn on the right and follow the direction Berne, Moudon, and then continue as described above.
