Information Management

MI2.jpg

Information technology has become a vital part of today’s society and as such the effective management of information has emerged to a major capability as well as concern for modern public administrations. While technology improved responsiveness, transparency, and accessibility of governmental services, it also considerably grew in complexity leading to the formation of an interdisciplinary field of research frequently referred to as “data science”, “information science” or “information management”.

Although this new field has progressed both in terms of theory and methods, it has not yet mastered the delicate transition from research to deployment. Our research unit, therefore, has dealt with the question on how to purposefully ideate, design, implement, and evaluate information intensive solutions for the public sector.
