General agreements

The so-called “general” agreements apply to almost all UNIL students. Applications are therefore not assessed by your faculty but by an inter-faculty selection committee. You should therefore submit your application to the Social Affairs and Student Mobility Office rather than to your own faculty.

If you apply by 1 December for a destination under a general agreement as your first choice and unfortunately you are not accepted, you will find out in late January or early February. This means you will have the option of applying again for an SEMP or faculty agreement by 20 February.

UNIL is also part of the ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) network, which allows students to go and study in universities in the United States. As there is a separate application process, please click on the “Application to ISEP network agreement” tab above for the procedure to follow. For any further information, you can contact Mr. Olivier Goumoëns at SASME.

Finally, UNIL also takes part in the Student Exchange Program (PEE) of the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (BCI), which supports student mobility with 11 academic institutions in Quebec. As there is a separate application process, any interested students should contact Mr. Olivier Goumoëns (SASME) before embarking on their application.
