Open-access research @UNIL

Repositories that are regularly used by researchers at UNIL include:

  • Open Science Framework (OSF): OSF is a free, open platform to support your research and enable collaboration, enhance transparency, and increase the visibility of research outputs and reuse.
  • SWISSUbase: SWISSUbase is a national, cross-disciplinary research data service that provides a free and FAIR-compliant platform as well as services for the archiving, publishing, and dissemination of your research data and metadata.
  • Zenodo: Zenodo is a general-purpose open repository developed under the European OpenAIRE program and operated by CERN. It allows researchers to deposit research papers, data sets, research software, reports, and any other research-related digital artifacts.
  • Figshare: Figshare is an online open-access repository where researchers can preserve and share their research outputs, including figures, datasets, images, and videos.

In addition, the dedicated Good Research Practice course focuses on training Ph.D. candidates and early career researchers on principles of open access, Study pre-registration, registered reports, open datasets, anonymization, and licensing.

Improving reproducibility practices @UNIL

The University of Lausanne prioritizes the protection of human subjects involved in research. All research involving human and animal subjects must seek the approval of the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Ethics submissions require key information:

  • Research questions
  • Experimental design
  • Incentives and benefits for study participants
  • Foreseeable risks or discomforts to participants
  • Type of research data to be collected
  • Data management plan
