Personal insights

Estefania Amer's teaching and research is focused on how our societies, through individuals, teams, and organizations, can address the ecological crisis and its environmental, social, and economic consequences. Estefania's expertise in sustainability is the result of an interdisciplinary background, which includes a first PhD in Environmental sciences, a BA in Sociology, a master's degree in Socioeconomics and a second PhD in Economics, as well as extensive academic and non-academic experience in social and environmental sciences.

Summary of research areas

Estefania's research focuses on how companies and other organizations integrate sustainability into the design and implementation of their strategies, with a focus on stakeholder integration and the role of media. She has published research in private politics, international management, and socially responsible investment.

She is currently working on a new project on the key competencies for sustainability. This project aims at identifying and characterizing these competencies in an adequate manner. It will also investigate how they can be developed within organizations and in higher education programs.
