MA specialization programs

The Master’s specialization programs are 30-credit programs that Faculty of Letters MA students can add to their Master’s study plan to acquire a 120 credit MA with specialization. These programs are usually interdisciplinary, and aim either at specializing in a particular field with a heavier emphasis on research, or else to provide more direct experience of the professional world.

The English department is home to the New American Studies program but we are also close collaborators with other interdisciplinary programs such as: African Literary Studies, Literary Translation, Medieval Culture and Civilisation, Teaching and Cultural Mediation (in collaboration with the Haute Ecole Pédagogique), History of the Book and Critical Editions, and Dramaturgy and History of Theater. Students of English may also join any of the other programs (see full list), provided they meet the basic requirements specific to each program.

This curriculum is open to current UNIL Master’s students, past Licence or Master’s students, as well as students who are currently or who have already obtained a Master’s degree (or Licence) from another university. For conditions and more details, see the Faculty website.
