Any research conducted by a HEC researcher that involves human participation and/or that could raise ethical issues has to get prior approval of the Commission for Ethics in Research (CER-HEC).

Please refer to the commission's regulation to complete an online Ethical Submission Form. The Ethics Committee might ask you to clarify or elaborate on certain information regarding your experiment, if it is deemed to lack detail.

As of April 2022, all Submissions (Ethical, Financial, Logistical) must be completed at the HEC Research Platform. You will find the link here below.

Be aware that the Ethics Committee needs approximately one week to process a submission.

Research falling under the Federal Act on Research involving Human Beings (HRA) has to get – as a very first step - an approval of the CER-VD (Commission cantonale de l’éthique de la recherche sur l’être humain). After getting the approval of the CER-VD, an ethical request will have to be submitted to the CER-HEC.
