Presentation

Much of my research lies at the intersection of manuscript studies and reception studies. In particular, I have been interested in exploring the role played by the production and circulation of books in the manufacture of authorial reputations. I have addressed this topic in a series of articles and in my monograph, Author, Scribe, and Book in Late Medieval English Literature (D.S. Brewer, 2018). This book focuses on the work of four fifteenth-century authors who deliberately thematise the link between authorial identity and book production. My newer work treats household culture, medieval English multilingualism, and Old English poetry.
