Presentation
My publications are unified by the desire to establish insofar as is possible the conditions of reception in which medieval English literature was met by its medieval readers. In practice, this has led me to study the development of textual traditions and the manuscript presentation of particular works as well as the linguistic development of English and the evidence for English facility in French. In so proceeding, I aim to highlight both the collaborative means by which authors and readers produced medieval texts and the wide range of experience that medieval authors could count on their readers to possess.
