Chen Cui (Peking, PRC) is a doctoral researcher and, currently, “chargé de cours” instructing Old and Middle English language and literature. His research interests include global medieval travel writing, Germanic and Romance philology, medieval narratology and rhetoric, as well as the translation and adaptation of medieval literature. He takes particular interest in the function of eco-narrative in Anglo-Saxon and Old Norse-Icelandic literature with respect to self-fashioning, on which theme he completed his previous MA’s thesis. Before joining UNIL, Chen Cui has studied medieval and modern European literature, theoretical linguistics, and education in Beijing, Venice, Bamberg, and Geneva.
