Cui Chen


Funded by Chinese Scholarship Council, Chen Cui is a doctoral researcher specialising in Medieval European literature, his doctoral project entitled “Eco-Narrative and Self-Fashioning in Medieval European Travel Writing”. Cui’s research focusses primarily on Old English and Old Norse-Icelandic literature, but also extends to late Medieval religious writing and Arthurian literature across Europe. Cui takes ancillary interest in classics, translation studies, stylistics, and postclassical narratology. Before joining in UNIL, he has studied modern literature, medieval philology, theoretical linguistics, and pedagogy in Peking, Venice, Bamberg, and Geneva.
