Professor Andreas R. Ziegler

Co-director of the LL.M in International Business Law

 

Andreas R. Ziegler is a Professor of International Law at the University of Lausanne.

 

He regularly advises governments, international organizations, NGOs and private clients and represents them before various domestic and international courts and arbitral tribunals. He is also on the permanent roster of panellists for the World Trade Organization (WTO) and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).

 

Prior to joining the University of Lausanne, Professor Ziegler worked for the Swiss Government, European Commission, Secretariat of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and a law firm in Zurich on trade and investment issues. In these roles he negotiated several multilateral and bilateral agreements and was also a delegate to the WTO, UNCTAD, OECD, Energy Charter and other international organisations.

 

He has published widely on European law, public international law, international courts and tribunals, as well as trade and investment. The list of all his publications is available here.
