Professor Anne-Christine Fornage

Anne-Christine Fornage is a Professor of Contract Law and Consumer Law at the University of Lausanne. She completed her undergraduate degree in French and German at the Universities of Fribourg and Vienna and obtained an LL.M. in Commercial Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science. For her Ph.D. thesis « La mise en œuvre des droits du consommateur contractant » she received the Vigener Prize 2012.

 

Her research focuses on structural imbalances in mass contracts, particularly in the context of the digitised economy. Her publications include Product Safety and Product Liability, Fair Trading Law, Financial Services and Securities Law. She also teaches on a regular basis in foreign universities. In April 2018, she was a visiting professor at City University of Hong Kong and in June 2018, at McGill University.

 

Prof. Fornage is a member of the board of the Swiss Banking Ombudsman Foundation in the role of an Ombudscom. In February 2018, she was appointed member of the Federal Consumer Commission (Commission fédérale de la consommation) by Switzerland’s Federal Council.
