Sports Contracts

DESCRIPTION

The course will focus on the nature of contracts with athletes, including those related to employment, representation/ agency, transfer, licensing, sponsoring, image rights, and collective bargaining. Sport events and their specificities will also be studied.

This course includes Swiss Association Law as it often governs the foundation and organisation of sports governing bodies. The objective will be to familiarise students with sports governance and competition law frameworks in the sports sector. Students will also have the opportunity to cover the specificity of sport, the “acquis communautaire sportif”, and sport and free movement.
