Christine’s education is in social anthropology, in sociology. She has a doctoral degree from the Université de Strasbourg (Unistra, Strasbourg, France). Her thesis, on the “Eat to believe: the incorporation of halal as a norm. Trans-generational study of Berber descendants of migrants”, under the dir. of the Dir. of Studies Anne-Sophie Lamine, was defended in June of 2012. Today, she is an Assistant Professor in the Chair Religions, migration, diasporas, under the direction of Professor Monika Salzbrunn.

Beside different researches connected to her doctoral studies, she participated in another research project as graduate assistant for ANR CONFLIREL "La pluralité religieuse, enjeu de conflits", 2008-2010 and "Les comportements alimentaires des adolescents et différences culturelles. Etude comparée du rapport aux aliments des jeunes de 12 à 13 ans dans deux régions françaises (PACA et Alsace).

These research interests focus on Islam, instead of migrants and descendants of migrants in France, new forms of religiosity, dietary practices, including the use of halal food.

There she joined different collective seminars (“sociology of religion” and “contemporary sociology”) and had responsibility for teaching in Muslim practices in globalization. She has made an ethnographic fieldwork in Morocco with students funded by the FIP.
