Shrinath Narayanan

Hello, I am Shrinath Narayanan.

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Kawecki lab.

For my doctoral thesis, I am working with populations of Drosophila melanogaster that are experimentally evolved (>250 generations) in a poor diet. These populations are adapted to the poor diet and I'm particularly working on understanding the role of the fat body in developing larvae, both morphological and functional adaptations. To study this, I am employing staining, RNAseq, and micro-CT scan methods.

My interests lie in the intersection of evolution and molecular biology. I am open to collaborations and like bringing different perspectives to answer a question.
